In the HealthEd program I'm apart of on campus a came across a section today in my reading and it wrote:
Satisfying skin hunger - The need to be touched and held by others in loving, caring ways is often referred to as skin hunger. Adolescents typically receive less touch from their parents than do younger children. Many teens satisfy their skin hunger through close physical contact with peers. Sexual intercourse may sometime result from a teen's need to be held, rather than from sexual desire.
When I read it I instantly thought of our forum.
My thoughts make me believe that we do need to be touched by others. I'm thinking of the need to be held and touched by family and close friends. I'm not sure about the NEED to be held by the opposite sex in a sexual relationship. I instantly thought of: being your own best friend. I'm curios to read perspective on it, because I want to see if I'm going to hard and closed-eyed on this journey.
Is this one a belief held up by the Matrix, or one connected to our instincts and nature?
