...I have a question for you.
Do you set visions [goals] for yourself of how you want to be in X years?
-
I ask, because I feel that if someone has a vision of how they want to be in X years, and I mean for example I visualize myself being comfortable in my skin, confident and relaxed in 1 years time, then I would be going away from what naturally would arise.
Like StephenP mentioned that when he kept thinking about how he would be if he no longer needed anything from anyone how would he be and for him a much more feminine side of him came out; it didn't seem like he visualized that, but it naturally came out.
In short, is visualizing about how I want myself to be in the future taking layers of or just putting on another layer?....
I set myself waypoints, if that makes sense.
Not goals, but point I would like to pass along a journey, places I would like to visit (not physical places).
Goals I find counter productive, but aiming points help.
Goals also imply a limit, as in you hit the goal, well done.
for example, If I was you I would be thinking I wanted to start to learn classical guitar playing and improve in the next 5 years, knowing that that is not a goal but a direction.
Along a similar line, becoming more comfortable in my own skin over the next year
it sets a direction, but no limit
It also does not set you up for failure either, as other things in life can get in the way and yet you can still achieve it, by simply being further along the path
