One thing I'm starting to accept now is analytical thinking. Books like The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle that advocate the notion to stop thinking were always difficult for me. So I figured I'd come to terms with this constant thinking and use it to my advantage instead of trying to silence it. Constant thinking is only really bad when you just berate yourself with those thoughts and use it as an opportunity to think negatively. Sometimes I just like to sit alone and just let the thoughts flow and see where they go.

I believe my problem was I took that book too literally. Thinking is not the enemy, your mind is not the enemy. It can be the enemy if you chose to use it in a negative manner, but it can also give you quite the edge if you accept it and learn how to use it.

So for those of you with analytical minds who feel like you never stop thinking, just embrace it because it's all you can do. Be thankful that you can think that much because it really is a gift. There are a lot of people who don't think enough and thinking a lot more than the average person really tends to give you an edge.

I agree this is one of those things in life which one can take too literally, thinking itself isn't bad, dwelling on trivial matters is, that's where one has to draw the line.

If you're the type that thinks obsessively about something once you focus on it, it might be more difficult to break the habit but you can turn that in your favor by moving into another direction, by making the choice to focus on something more productive, it becomes easier over time.

It's a power/aspect of yourself that can be destructive if abused/neglected but can be one of your greatest strengths when you gain control of it.

Eckhart doesn't live the life he preaches, claiming that he denies ego, power, money. Under the guise of his version of spirituality and concepts that are borrowed from eastern philosophy is actually a very effective power ploy...disguising his intentions.

Just look at how many products he has...all of which could be on one product
