of the vocabulary needed to be able to
communicate effectively in Chinese)

right now, 2 weeks afterward, with a minimal
amount of repetition during that time.
(at a total of 8 hours of learning and
2 hours of repetition) plus having a good
sense of the basic Chinese (Mandarin)
prior to that.
