Well, I take it like this:
1. Trump (insert any name here) saying something (insert any insult here) on social platforms.
2. Big corps / Twitter / FB ... censoring / banning 1. on all platforms.
Opposite people of 1. cheering.
People liking 1. complaining.
Here:
1. "People" (
a feud between amateur day-traders meming on Reddit and big hedge funds placing) "manipulating" the market on Gamestop.
2. RobinHood [what an unfitting name for this story] blocking access to trade (shorting) for 1..
Haven't seen any one cheering.
They must count all the money they made on those "small" investors.
As you say about
bullion banks and the physical to settle the contracts, I say about the complete control that we let some people have over "us" [read, our money, our time, our thoughts / "data", ...] (Banks / big tech / ...).
Decentralized exchanges exist for Cryptos at least...
The want of "immediate gain" makes us commit many sins.
Yet when you fall down that hole, whether censorship for those you don't agree with, or forbidding / forcing / segregating things to a certain type of people.
We'll all get wrecked.
Not sure if sadly of hopefully though...
If that leads to people reclaiming their sovereignty, then I'm all up for this kind of fuckery.
Tactics as old as mythology I suppose
