In this context, if you are only 22 and give up so effortlessly for such a silly reason, then the culprit is certainly NOT your girlfriend. I think the "heartbreak" just pulled the trigger. The gun was loaded well in advance, as he was probably depressed in general. If one doesn't examine the case in detail, no safe conclusion can be drawn. The distorted media coverage is not reliable enough.
huh?! You mean media coverage is unreliable? This in addition to the health industry being economically driven?! What else will you reveal next, zogler?
Let's analyse from the distorted coverage, shall we? - written by the artist himself
"This day couldn't get any worse...," Freddy wrote (@Freddy_E). "Smoked my first pack of cigarettes today... been a long time since I've gone through heart break. It's a cold unforgiving world if I do say.
"It's all bad y'all... Cruising in the 300 Chrysler. Wishing the world could be a little brighter. But all I can seem to find is this lighter. It's all bad y'all," he continued. "If there's a God then He's calling me back home. This barrel never felt so good next to my dome. It's cold & I'd rather die than live alone. It's... all... bad... y'all. *puts finger around trigger*."
From the coverage alone, there is no evidence that the suicide was based on physiological factors and completely based on psychological factors.
There are only three things that people care about, really; interpersonal relationships, money and health.
Most people really don't give a flying monkeys about anything else.
Now, unfortunately zogler, I have not interviewed every person on the planet, but based on general media coverage and general statistics, more people commit suicide over interpersonal relationships than anything else, people live through financial ruin, people, amazingly, live through health issues but relationship issues is the bigger killer. In fact, the suicide rate goes up during Christmas time as people simply cannot bear being alone.
Judging by the coverage, the only coverage we can draw from, is that he was healthy. Apparently, he was driving a 300 Chrysler, I'm assuming that financial ruin was not an issue. This leaves us with interpersonal relationships. We can assume, based on what we know in general that the relationship issue was the main basis for his suicide, rather than a straw which broke the camel's back.
But guess what? It doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter why he shot himself. The particulars are not the issue. As aptly and smartly pointed out in the post above mine, the boy based his emotional well being outside of himself and if you do this, you are always at risk regardless of the subject matter.
