I was thinking about how the movie situation played out in my head and this popped up. If your indifferent you don't engage anyone because you don't need anything. So your not "going to war first".

There's no leakage or revealing your hand because you don't have one. They have to move first and you can decide accordingly. Your cutting to the baseline of interaction, you are the stimulus and they are the response. There's no deeper level they can play on to manoever you. (actually that's Rion's idea reverse engineered)

In building a statue, a sculptor doesn't keep adding clay to his subject.He keeps chiseling away at the inessentials until the truth of its creation is revealed without obstructions. Perfection is not when there is no more to add,but no more to take away.

While I think Sun Tzu was a genius and think a lot of his teachings relate to what is being said here, I can't help but feel put off by relating his quotes to getting together with women. Is it really "war" we go into, and isn't the larger victory less attatchement and indifference, as opposed to "winning over the woman"?

Oh I just don't look at the word "war" I agree it's not THAT serious.

But the underlying dynamic of what he says is perfectly applicable.
