I have a buddy here locally that knows all about me, Kidd!! persona and all. He's a disciple of sorts, and can see The Matrix. I've taken him under my wing once a week on Sundays for my gym routine to help him prepare for his very bright future (he's a young man...early 20's)...average looking white dude, slim build...but his mind is on the path to greatness, so he will be a standout when his time comes.
Anyhoo, today he managed to procure some buddy passes to his gym (we have memberships are different gyms), so he picks me up and I tag along with him to his gym, which I had never set foot in before. It's 7 am on a Sunday morning...so it's pretty dead. As we stroll in, I see a familiar face...
It was this chick that I used to work with not too long ago at a hospital in town. She's had a thing for me for the LONGEST...she constantly pokes me on FB and is basically just praying that I ask her out or something. She's cute, but just too rotund for my tastes. To her credit, she is dedicated with her gym time, and maybe one day if she slims down enough, I'll make her day.
But she is not the focus of this story...no...that belongs to her friend, which I had never met before. As soon as she saw me, she lit up...I already knew what time it was. So I introduced my friend to them, and strangely, the chick I knew failed to introduce her friend. Ponder on that for a moment...
Soooo I keep the pleasantries short and sweet and then proceed to get my pupil and I's workout going. Before we start training, I ask him if he noticed anything in that interaction...he pointed out everything except for the lack of an introduction, which I didn't bring up at that time. So, to train his multitasking abilities, I tell him to not only focus on your workout (form, breathing, etc), but to also keep an eye on my friend's friend. Then, I focused squarely on our workout, to leave to observation work to him.
We finished our sets for the day, and as we headed to the water fountain, we noticed the two women in question were nearby doing squats. I figured I'd be nice and say goodbye to my friend, and told my pupil to watch any and everything. I marched straight up to the girl I knew as she finished her set and made small talk saying bye and nice seeing you and stuff...and her friend made it her business to include herself in the convo. Of note, once again for the second time now, the girl I knew failed to introduce her friend to us.
Not to give much away yet, I was pleasantly pleased with the end result, because I live in a tough environ in general...goes to show what the right vibe can do for you when you love yourself completely. As my pupil and I walked to his car, I told him to tell me everything he observed. He was excited to have witnessed me do my thing live and in person, and could hardly contain it...I could tell it strengthened his resolve a WHOLE lot. The following is what he pointed out as close to his words as I can recall:
-After our initial meeting, she would try to stay in eyesight of us as much as possible. Everytime she could get a clean glance she would take it...whether it was direct or in a mirror (gyms have lots of mirrors, for those who don't go
).- During our second and final exchange, she practically dropped her weights to be able to run over and get into the conversation I was having with the her friend, the one I actually knew. She then quickly took over the conversation, and even kind of wedged herself between me and her friend and was squared up with me while talking.
-She quickly, and I mean QUICKLY, threw out a reasonable alibi to get my phone number (i.e. I get paid to take supplements for working out....let me get your number so that I can tell you about it!). The body language of the girl I knew was NOT good.
-She gave me her phone to enter her number...in today's day and age, people's whole LIVES are in their phone...if a complete stranger hands you her phone to enter your information, that subconsciously shows how into you she is...even to the point of trusting you innately ALREADY.
- As we parted company, she made a point to reach out and touch me on my arm after I had given the girl I knew a friendly hug goodbye. Women don't HAVE to touch you for ANY reason...EVER. This is Pimposophy 101 shit.
I was impressed with his observations and subsequent analyzations...but I told him that he missed something. That was when I pointed out how I was never properly introduced to the girl I didn't know, to the point that I literally had to introduce myself because her friend and corralled me into a conversation and it was just getting awkward at that point. I asked him if he understood why...I will leave this question open for discussion in this thread.
So then we laughed and drank our creatine and protein shakes and headed home...I'll be expecting a call sooner than later more than likely.
