This is something I have a lot of trouble controlling. When someone takes a jab at me, or overtly says they're in control of me. Or constant headbutting with other people.
Logically I know I shouldn't have an emotional response to it, but I cannot seem to control my emotions in that sense. I don't ever feel love anymore but my knee jerk anger is something that continues

Kidd, Peregrinus I would really appreciate your insights

Observe yourself when this happens.

And think back to when it has happened.

Ignore what was said, what did you feel, moment by moment through the encounter.

I would wager that before your reaction you felt something that your reaction was covering up.

A sinking feeling in my stomach, like I'm out of control and need to attack to regain my position. :|

What's the solution? Logically I can see it's incorrect.

The sudden void when someone/yourself hits a sore spot? I think it's the ego. (Energy Go!) (I know... acronym junkie!)

What I've tried is the following;

Let myself feel the feeling completely in the moment it began, no resistance nor represing, (at first is frigthening) but shurely you can handle it.
Emotions,... you name it: Anger, shame, boredom, pain, lust, sappyness<- (this one is laughable) etc.
Then it let go automatically, allow the emotion pass trough you, do not hang onto it, it worked well for me.

It's like if you direct your conscious energy into observing this energy/emotion (reaction) it vanishes, sometimes not as fast, but shurely does with practice.

Note:
Sedona method guys, call it: Welcoming the feeling

I did this unknowingly before reading this post, concidence?.

Scary shit man, scary shit....but it does dissolve, like when 'Grinus says 'let it wash over you' the feeling gets almost intolerably intense then, it's gone...it leaves space for logic.

This is strange, it's different, just uncovered some serious shit as part of my healing process.

It also helps to realize that emotions come from your thought process. Even if you aren't aware of it, there is dialogue running inside of your head. Next time you are in a situation like this really be aware of what goes through your head and try to catch it. It's hard to do especially if you've learned to suppress those thoughts instead of being aware of them.
