The woman I was with was in tears at the end of it and sat there stunned and amazed, then just said WOW! with a smile on her face. Bike fans will love it, I also feel the men here will enjoy the insight into the riders and their motivations. How to have a life totally focussed and aimed at something that consumes you and is your passion above all other, something you are drawn to again and again, no matter what the risks or danger. The subject of biking doesn't interest me much, but I have to review this fine montage they did... How they managed to play with emotions (no wonder your friend cried, all this building up ...) with Guy Martin. I don't even know how to describe him, so I'll not attempt to do so. But how they interwined moments to explain his life, his goals, his persona, jokes ... and at the same time the explanations on life and death, on the thrill of not knowing if you're gonna finish the race ... They did some fine work with the music too, if the ending would have been different, I don't know if tears wouldn't have come up too ... This movie was for me an emotional roller coaster. Heads up for the five times winner who entered the history btw ... Thanks for showing this. |

Found myself watching this again last night. Had arranged a night in with a new woman and given her the choice of film to watch, given I had dictated the menu for the evening. My face must have been a picture when she pulled the blu-ray of this out of her bag and presented it to me. A very pleasant surprise. If anything got more from the second watch, with some time in between. Having seen it before in no way limited the experience. Simply stunning in HD with surround sound. It does help that since I first watched it have upgraded my AV system

Didn't like it that much (watched it two weeks ago) the second time (well, less than the first time). Apart from the wisdom from wives and friends, the whole suspense was taken off from me. Maybe the girl's company made it enjoyable for you the second time
