It was very strenuous, little nonsense and disciplined. I say little nonsense because the Drill Instructors (DI) lighten up accordingly as the cycle drags on, but it is pure hell for the first month or so of the 2-3 month cycle. It was very physically demanding and as well as mentally demanding. I didn't want it...but I sure did need it. ;)

Adapting to military life?...hmmmmmm...once you understand and accept the path of least resistance makes YOUR life easier...never mind proving a point or being wrong or right, it isn't bad at all. But those that rage and rage and rage against the system find out eventually that the system always wins. So you have good times and bad times, and you take it all in stride and focus on your long term goals to get you through the current situations. 8-)

Ok, Kool.

so the basic idea in the beginning (2-3 months) is to break down an individual mentally ( insults and yelling) while building them physically wit the "PT", however, with time the mind also becomes stronger, if it doesn't "crack" under the pressure.

Also I'd like to ask.. I read somewhere you served in Korea.. DMZ I presume ?
Is the atmosfere there really that intense as portrayed in media ?
I watched a document about NorthK and the guys were talking how relaxed it looked when they were in the DMZ area from the north..
