Improving yourself is for YOU...attracting women is merely a pleasant side effect.

This is the SECOND time I have said this...don't MAKE me say it AGAIN. :|

well Brent didn't mean that if you sit on your butt and just watch TV all day and play video games you will be pulling hot models. He meant to say that you don't have to have model looks or be rich in order to pull beautiful women.

in regards to Front+Clout,

The seduction Gurus:

If they are doing well with women, they are also excelling in other areas of their lives - business, working out, dressing right, developing their hobbies, passions and etc...

Brent is spending time working out, buying the right clothes, getting tanned, coloring his hair and so on. He does it in order to keep looking good + he puts a lot of time and energy in his business....

Zan works out and probably worked a lot on his story telling abilities to attract people into his fantasy world. He also knows a lot of poems so he probably spent a lot of time reading books.
He also spends time learning to play the guitar which is his passion and hobby.

David D. is working hard on his businesses and internet marketing.

Johnny Soporno spends a lot of time and energy on marketing his porn Bizz

Even Mystery worked his ass off: to learn magic, to work on his looks and he is literally *obsessed* with going out...

(So you won't find a guru who looks like crap, living in his mom's basement and pulling models. The guys pulling models generally work on all aspects of themselves.)
Cool, I was just saying because I doubted what Brent was saying was true.

I like how Brent focuses on changing your mindset and working on yourself. However, I had phone coaching with him and didn't even finish all the calls we had because he would suggest I do the same techniques no matter what I asked: visualization, change your story and affirmations.

Now affirmations haven't been effective for me because of the fact that it feels like I'm trying to convince myself of something. On that line, if I am trying to convince myself, then it means that whatever it is I am trying to affirm is in in fact a lie and not representative of what is.

See, if I KNOW I am smart, I don't have to repeat it to myself or have constant reminders that I am indeed smart. That would be retarded, well because I know I am smart so there is no need to convince myself of it. The same goes for affirmations.

Trying to convince yourself you are sexy, attractive, etc. just means you aren't already and are trying to get there. Both Brent and Cory Skyy go on and on about conditioning and endless repetitions until it becomes true for you, but that means you will likely face tons of resistance when doing the affirmations.

This is a lot of work, and definitely feels like it because of inner resistance that arises to what is being affirmed.

Frederick Dodson has a cool technique which I find more effective for those interested in trying affirmations. It's called the Reality Creation Technique, and it's very simple. Basically, for every affirmation/intention you make, you voice out whatever counter-intention or resistance that you feel in that moment.

So if you say "I'm a very attractive and confident man", immediately after you would say whatever counter-intention arises as a result of that affirmation like "Yeah right, that's just wishful thinking." You go back and forth repeating your affirmation and counter-intention, always saying one each, for no more than 30 times a day. This is because you will always come up with resistance and don't want your entire focus to be on it, according to Dodson.

I find this method much more sensible as you bring awareness to the elephant in the room, instead of just piling feel good statements and ignoring how you truly feel in this moment. I have to be honest and say, I have stopped using this technique for a while, as I am more interested in truly allowing everything I feel moment by moment. I still find it to be more sensible than just mindlessly repeating statements in the hope that whatever I say will come true.

you know I recently dropped affirmations. I'm not saying that if it didn't work for me it won't work for everyone but I kind of felt like what you said.

If I'm rich (for example) I don't need to look at myself in the mirror and say: 'I am rich', I already know that. And if I'm poor then standing in front of the mirror and saying 'I am rich' is ridiculous.

Instead of doing all that I look for confirmations (Kidd's concept), change whatever I can change and work on letting go of negative beliefs that I hold and once I let go- I don't need to do affirmations because once it's gone then it's gone.

Good post Diego, I so can relate to that. I wonder if you are DJG from Jakes forum? I'm Ugi there ;)

Yeah, I stopped doing affirmations too. And honestly think that doing then only makes sense if you're already indifferent ergo if you're ok with whatever happens to you (regarding women or money or whatever).

Don't really know about visualizations. I think its better to visualize being happy all by yourself like in the scenario of not having a girl attracted to you ever again. If you visualize getting pursued by women and still are attached to success with them, na, I don't think thats a good idea anymore.

So, really as TheKidd, Pergrinus and Jake pointed it out (more than Brent), the first you got to handle is being your own best friend, not giving a hoop if women like your or not.

Al Pacino would probably say: "You gotta be your own best friend first. Then when you're your own best friend, you get the women." 8-)

@diego

There was another guy I know via facebook from the USA who told me the same thing.
He did phone coaching with Brent and he said that Brent's advise can help you become more social, but he didn't see any results as far as women with Brent's advise.

He did everything Brent told him which was mostly visualizations & affirmations. And when he was not seeing any results with women, Brent used to tell him the same stuff: that he was not doing enough affirmations and etc...

That guy felt the same way like you about affirmations: He said that he did tons of affirmations but when he got rejected all the affirmations went down the can.

I think Brent has a good mindset and his videos and advise on youtube are cool. But I have come to realize that like The Kidd mentioned somewhere in here:

doing affirmations and visualizations in regards to women: makes you more needy and not indifferent....
